Helen Aldoroty and Bob Ross

About Me

My artistic journey began in the early 1980’s. One day I came across a program “The Magic of Oil Painting" on TV that featured an artist named Bill Alexander. I was fascinated with his style of painting. Bill used a wet-on-wet oil painting technique that made it possible to complete an oil painting in a short period of time. I loved his upbeat and positive attitude. From that moment on I was hooked. I took every art class I could find in oils, acrylics, and watercolors. I loved all of them.

Before long I had an art studio of my own and became a certified instructor. In 1985 I was lucky enough to meet and work with another great TV artist Bob Ross. He was so generous with his help and support to me as an instructor. I am so glad that I got to know him and call him my friend.

Life has taken me in many different directions throughout the years. But one thing has always stayed with me and that is my passion for art and teaching others. I love hearing a student say "Wow I can’t believe I painted this!”  As a teacher there is no greater joy than seeing the excitement from a student who completes a painting for the first time.

You too can experience the joy and magic of painting.

As Bill Alexander would say “unleash your creative power!”
